About the Department of Surgery

The main objectives of the department are:

– training of highly qualified personnel;
– development and improvement of new technologies and methods of diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases and other scientific research;
– provision of highly qualified and high-tech medical care to the population.

At the same time, many specific tasks are solved in the educational, medical and research activities of the department:

– conducting practical exercises and giving lectures, provided for by the curriculum for clinical
– disciplines and based on state standards;
– management of students’ practice;
– conducting exams and tests;
– development of teaching materials and textbooks for students and teachers;
– publication of teaching materials and manuals
– training in internship and clinical residency in the specialties “surgery” and “cardio-
– conducting scientific research according to the plans of the University’s research and development, on the basis of grants and various programs and projects.
