World Tuberculosis Day in ISM IUK

On March 24, 2023, an information day for students “Fight against tuberculosis: prevention, diagnosis, and treatment” dedicated to World Tuberculosis Day was held at the Eastern Medical Campus of ISM IUK.

The organizers of the event were: The Department of Student Support and the extracurricular Work of ISM IUK, the Department of “Infectious Diseases” and the Department of “Pathology”, the participants were students from IHSM and ISM IUK.

The event began with the theater stage “Under the light of Hope. A story of love and guilt”, which was prepared by the students themselves in order to convey to society that tuberculosis is not yet a verdict, it is curable.

The agenda of the event included an informational report with game quests from the expert of the USAID project “Cure Tuberculosis” Asel Abdrakhmanova. She gave detailed information about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of tuberculosis.  

Educational reports among students on 3 main topics were also listened to:

  • Epidemiology of tuberculosis in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh;
  • Modern methods of tuberculosis diagnosis;
  • Modern methods of tuberculosis treatment.

The winners of the best reports were awarded medals, certificates, and commemorative prizes with the emblem of the ISM IUK.
