As you know, on March 23, 2023, a team of students from ISM IUK took part in the 1st International Olympiad dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of I.K. Akhunbayev on the basis of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. The event was organized to improve the quality of training of specialists in the field of healthcare, develop students’ creative potential, and motivate them to independently study medical science.
The ISM IUK team has shown excellent results in many disciplines. In the competition of scientific projects of young scientists on clinical issues and scientific articles, ISM students made presentations with the results of their own research work. Thus, in the report of the 7th-semester student Zarish Khalil “LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES OF COVID-19 ON PSYCHOLOGICAL STATE AT A YOUNG AGE”, the long-term consequences of Covid-19 on the psychological state of foreign students were studied. The jury highly appreciated the relevance of this scientific work and the contribution of the student, awarding her first place. For the scientific work “POST-COVID SYNDROME IN PATIENTS WITH CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, ESPECIALLY IN THE ELDERLY”, student Mohammad YASIR ASGHAR took the honorable third place.
It should be noted that research work has been carried out since 2021 at the Department of “Therapy” in student scientific circles. Students have previously participated in international conferences in St. Petersburg, and Astana and won prizes.
The Olympiad shows not only the quality of medical education at the university but also provides medical students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and acquire new acquaintances for future international cooperation.
