on the Visit of the Chinese Medical Delegation to the International School of Medicine, International University of Kyrgyzstan

From May 7 to 9, 2026, the International School of Medicine of the International University of Kyrgyzstan hosted a delegation from leading medical and innovative organizations of the People’s Republic of China.

With the support of a partner of the BRIMDIA (Belt and Road Medical Device Innovation and Application Alliance) — the Shanghai Lin-gang Medical Device Innovation Center — representatives and leading medical specialists from Peking University First Hospital and Huadong Hospital affiliated to Fudan University took part in the official visit.

The delegation also included representatives of medical equipment manufacturing companies: Shanghai Gemple Biotech Co., Ltd., Haofeng Medical Group, Zhanyuan NEW LAB, and PARAMED.

The visit was aimed at developing international cooperation in medicine, medical education, innovative technologies, and scientific research.

As part of the visit, a roundtable meeting was held with the participation of the Rector of the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Academician A. A. Aidaraliev, where prospects for establishing a long-term platform for cross-border medical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan, China, and Central Asian countries were discussed.

Particular attention was given to the following areas:
• implementation of advanced medical technologies;
• development of SMART clinics;
• cooperation in the field of medical equipment;
• advancement of telemedicine;
•introduction of innovative surgical solutions and minimally invasive surgical technologies.

The delegation visited the university clinics “Amanat” and “Vedanta,” the Chui Regional United Hospital, as well as the Morphological Building of the International School of Medicine. During the meetings, promising areas of cooperation in healthcare, medical education, and the implementation of advanced medical technologies were identified.

As part of the visit, Professor Wang Yu, Director of the Spine Surgery Department at Peking University First Hospital, performed a live demonstration surgery and conducted a master class for doctors at the “Vedanta” clinic, showcasing modern approaches in spine surgery and minimally invasive techniques.

Following the negotiations, agreements were reached on:
• development of academic mobility and exchange of specialists;
• implementation of joint research projects on regionally significant diseases;
• introduction of telemedicine platforms;
• establishment of a “green corridor” for patients with severe and rare diseases;
• development of cooperation in medical technologies and innovation.

The parties noted that the visit marked an important step in strengthening strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China in the fields of medicine, science, and medical education.

The visit laid the foundation for long-term and systematic cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in healthcare, medical training, and the implementation of advanced medical technologies.
