OF THE FINAL STATE ATTESTATION OF GRADUATES

The Program of the Final State Attestation is developed in accordance with the requirements of state postgraduate education, governed by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic dated July 30, 2021, №1357 and the curriculum on specialty 560001 “General Medicine”.

Final state attestation is conducted by the State Examination Commissions.

The timing for the final state attestation is established in accordance with the curriculum and calendar schedule of the educational process.

Final state attestation on specialty 560001 “General Medicine” is conducted in the form of interdisciplinary exam in the specialized disciplines.

The interdisciplinary exam is held in the form:

I stage – Computer-based testing. Test the academic performance by means of computer.

II stage – Objective structured exam, including the assessment of theoretical knowledge, formed practical skills and clinical thinking of students.

Stage I – Computer-based testing. Computer-based testing is conducted according to the schedule with the technical support of the ISM IUK Resource Center. The test material covers the content of professional disciplines of the specialty. The examination is conducted by standard test tasks, compiled on the basis of a unified bank of interdisciplinary attestation tasks for all areas of graduate training, covering the content of clinical disciplines. The examination to determine the level of theoretical knowledge of graduates is carried out at one time in a computer class.

Stage I – Computer testing. Computer testing is carried out according to the schedule with the technical support of the ISM IUK Resource Center. The test material covers the content of the professional disciplines of the specialty. The exam is conducted according to standard test tasks, compiled on the basis of a single bank of interdisciplinary attestation tasks in all areas of graduate training, covering the content of clinical disciplines. The exam to determine the level of theoretical training of graduates is held simultaneously in a computer class.

Stage II – part 1. Supervision at the bedside or passing the Objective Structured Clinical Exam is intended to test professional competencies. At this stage, the graduate is allowed to demonstrate the consistent implementation of the volume of skills and abilities necessary for professional activity.

At this stage, the level of deontological education of students is determined and an assessment is made of the effectiveness of the teaching activities of departments and courses responsible for the practical training of students.

The practical state exam is taken on the clinical bases or Simulation training center of ISM IUK.

It consists of two sections:

  1. a) examination at the bedside of a real patient with various pathologies or simulation patient, while assessing the performance of one or more practical skills;
  2. b) decoding and interpretation of ECG images, radiographs, and laboratory data.

Stage II – part 2. The theoretical oral examination on the basis of a card is a continuation of the second stage and is taken after passing the practical state exam and testing. Examination cards are compiled by the graduating departments of the ISM IUK. The structure of the examination cards includes questions on the following academic disciplines, the results of which are of decisive importance for the professional activities of graduates:

  • Public health and health care, general hygiene, epidemiology;
  • Therapy;
  • Pediatrics;
  • Surgery;
  • Obstetrics and gynecology.
