On September 13-15, a three-day seminar on the topic was held at the Orion Hotel in Bishkek: “Strengthening the best practices of Biosecurity and Cyberbiosecurity”, organized by Health Security Partners (HSP) in cooperation and with the support of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), as well as the Department of Fundamental Disciplines of the ISM IUK.
During the seminar, presentations were made by: expert in the field of biosafety, technical adviser on export control of dual-use goods and technologies for the EU, project manager in Central Asia, Professor Maria Espona, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Fundamental Disciplines, ISM IUK prof. Akmatova E.K., national experts in the field of biosecurity, biosecurity and cybersecurity: Sydygalieva Zh., Kalmambetova G., Bektashev T., Ashiralieva D., Dzhaparova A., Schauer D.
In addition, twenty-five specialists in the field of medicine, biology, veterinary medicine and IT from all regions of Kyrgyzstan took part in the seminar, including the head of the Department “Infectious Diseases” ISM IUK, Ph.D. Otorova A.A., MD, Professor of the Department “Fundamental Disciplines” Isakova Zh.T.
As a result of the seminar, guidelines on complex expertise were developed on the principle of “Know your client”.
In the future, participants of the seminar will be able to apply for competitive grants for the implementation and improvement of biosecurity, biosecurity and cyberbiosecurity strategies in their industries.
