STATEMENT

In light of recent events related to international students, the administration of the International University of Kyrgyzstan informs:
ISM IUK students, citizens of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, have nothing to do with the incident that took place on the 13th of May, 2024, that led to the subsequent events.

On the night of 17-18 May, unidentified persons broke into the medical school’s dormitory, located on 7 April st. in Bishkek.

In response to the situation, law enforcement officers and university staff immediately arrived to the scene to ensure the safety of students living on campus.

As a result of the measures taken, none of the students were seriously injured.

At the moment, a round-the-clock duty of the dormitory is organised by employees of the university, and the campus is guarded by law enforcement agencies.

The university provides the necessary psychological and moral support to students.

The incident has been assessed by law enforcement agencies and the situation is under full control at the moment.

All foreign students of the university are legally based in the country with appropriate study visas.

The university management condemns any manifestations of violence and intolerance against foreign citizens, which could damage the reputation of the Kyrgyz Republic as a safe state of law that ensures the rule of law.
