On April 5, 2024 at the Department of “Fundamental Disciplines” of ISM IUK was held a guest lecture for students of the 2nd year, 4th semester on the topic: “Biosafety Risk Assessment”.
The lecture was conducted by Deputy Director for Strategic Development and International Cooperation of the National Center of Phthisiatry, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Kalmambetova G.I.
In her lecture Kalmambetova G.I. informed about the main biosafety risks that exist in biological laboratories according to the World Health Organization Laboratory Biosafety Manual “WHO Laboratory Biosafety Manual”, as well as the main types of physical, chemical and biological hazards that can occur in laboratory facilities. In addition, the lecture addressed step-by-step recommendations for activities to ensure biosafety in medical laboratories.
