About department
The Department of “Special Surgical Disciplines” was established on 22 August 2020 by the Order №210 of the Rector of NCEI ESPC “IUK” and is one of the structural subdivisions of the International School of Medicine ESPC “IUK”, engaged in the study and teaching of various specialized areas of surgery, such as cardiovascular and X-ray endovascular surgery, traumatology and orthopedics, urology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, combustology.
The aim of the department of “Special Surgical Disciplines” is to teach theoretical knowledge and practical skills to students in specific areas necessary for the provision of specialized surgical care to the population of both Kyrgyzstan and other near and far abroad countries.
The teaching staff of the Department of Special Surgical Disciplines has international qualifications, many years of experience in teaching and practical work in leading foreign universities, clinics, hospitals, as well as in hospitals and universities of our country. The knowledge and competences obtained at the department upon graduation will allow students to successfully start their career in specialized surgery.
Objectives of the department:
- Carrying out the educational process aimed at developing students’ necessary skills and competences in specialized areas of surgery through lectures and practical classes.
- Developing and conducting training programmes, courses and seminars in specialized areas of surgery according to the disciplines of the department.
- Actualization and innovativeness of the learning process through the introduction of the latest teaching methods and the use of modern educational technologies.
- Active involvement of students and teachers in the implementation of research activities in special surgical areas, conducting clinical and experimental research aimed at the development of methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of surgical diseases in the profile of the department.
- Organisation and assistance in the acquisition of practical skills by students both in specialized surgical departments of hospitals of the capital and regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, and in the simulation center of ISM NCEI ESPC “IUK” under the guidance of experienced specialists of each discipline.
- Training of highly qualified specialists, at the stage of postgraduate education and subsequently at advanced training courses, by obtaining advanced knowledge applied in modern specialized surgery.
